We are seeking Virtual Art Department Technical Artist with expertise in delivering tools to artists and developing platforms and pipelines for the Virtual Art Department. This is a remote position.

Job Description

The VAD Unreal TA has a proven record and experience working in a TA role in Games/Commercials/Films/TV. Their skillset must be optimized to deliver tools to teams of artists and collaborate in developing a platform and pipeline for the Virtual Art Dept. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly with team members while working in a fast-paced environment. A necessary and complete understanding of the VAD workflow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare scenes and content ahead of client reviews and virtual scouting sessions
  • Facilitate and observe daily reviews and working sessions to identify bottlenecks or issues
  • Debug technical issues promptly and efficiently, escalating to core engineering teams when needed
  • Standardize and improve content creation, review processes and best practices for the production of real-time assets, materials, shaders and LODs
  • Set strategic direction for the content pipeline and tools, and provide a product-owner level of expertise as a key pipeline customer
  • Profile real-time scenes to provide leadership with content strategies on how to best accomplish their vision
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of professional game production or Virtual Art Department experience in a Technical Artist role working with Unreal Engine.
  • A commitment to communication, interpersonal skills, and collaboration with department members.
  • Ability to work with Supervisors to configure tools and output high-quality work
  • Expert in being able to create Unreal Editor widgets and/or Plugins in order to help the VAD team to be fast and efficient (Quality of life and Automation).
  • Advanced knowledge of Scripted Actions
  • Advanced understanding of ICVFX Stage tools
  • Expert knowledge of Optimization Tools
  • Expert understanding of Blueprints and creation of Blueprints
  • Expertise in Source Control/Perforce
  • Advanced knowledge in being able to setup Visual Data Prep Recipes for DataSmith Automated Ingestion
  • Advanced knowledge of being able to set up a nDisplay System
  • Advanced knowledge and experience setting up Pixel Streaming Session, Multi-User session.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of a VFX pipeline and workflow.
  • Awareness of timelines and delivery dates
  • Experience with CVar cmds for environment optimization, and troubleshooting
PREFFERED:
  • Understanding of UI Development for Tools (WPF, WinForms, XAML, QT) is a plus
  • Activation of less exposed engine features is nice to have
  • Knowledge of Unity
The wage range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $140,000 per year which is a good faith assessment associated with this position only and will be assessed dependent on the skills and background of each candidate.
