Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Works independently without an editor to present interesting and unbiased newscasts with accuracy, urgency and timing precision
  • Competency delivering stories and newscasts within WSB standards
  • Research, write, report and file on-air and online reports for newscasts, digital assets and talk programs
  • Conducts interviews with sources, newsmakers, and reporters
  • Handle tight deadlines, compose, write and deliver copy for air
  • Ability to file multiple newscasts an hour; ability to pivot to long-form coverage of breaking news
What We Look For
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or similar field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience reporting and/or anchoring in media preferred
  • Must be proficient with computers and broadcast equipment including, but not exclusive to NewsBoss, Adobe Audition, Microsoft Office and broadcast consoles
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong newsgathering and analytical skills and a keen sense of news judgment
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong radio anchoring, reporting and production skills.
