As Production Assistant, you will work closely with the TODAY editorial team and control room teams on the rundown of the broadcast. You will also serve as a resource for vacation and other PTO coverage for essential broadcast positions.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Create Show Rundown and other supporting paperwork
  • Work directly with control room production team
  • Working directly with producers on segments
  • Gathering elements for segments
  • Have strong editorial judgement
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of news production and/or administrative experience.
  • Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and social media.
  • Must have flexible schedule and be available on holidays and weekends when needed.
  • Strong interest in news, entertainment, and current events.

  • Must be willing to work in New York City.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news. The ability to work overtime, as needed.

  • Awareness of NBC News programs, on-air correspondents, policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Knowledge of iNews, AVID Interplay and editing software.
  • Knowledge of Frequency software.
