Job Description

We are currently seeking a Post Production Associate in our Production team reporting to the VP Post Production based in our Santa Monica, CA office.

JOB SUMMARY 

The post-production associate is an essential position that is needed to keep the post-production department organized as we oversee television series across two networks, including scripted originals, unscripted, and international and domestic co-productions. The associate is the backbone of the post-production department and will spearhead a variety of areas for the dept. 

This individual is an integral member of the studio postproduction team, responsibilities include supporting SVP, VP, and Manager of Post-Production, tracking, storing, and distributing post-production materials for the department. They will help create and maintain infrastructural processes, collect, and organize information needed to keep the department running and advancing in its most efficient form. The Associate will liaise with the post-production teams of each show, to set them up during production prep and to see them through final wrap out of their series. They will interface with other studio/network departments, such as Promos/Marketing, PR, Digital, Media Management, Finance, Residuals and Legal. The associate will read and break down scripts and help advise on post-production needs for new series. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Coordinate and set up calls/meeting for the SVP, VP, general post dept and shows as needed.  Manage schedules for the SVP & VP. 
  • Manage legal contracts and documents for all series (main title pitch agreements, NDAs, W9s and various accounting forms) 
  • Track post-production vendors across all series 
  • Onboard vendors and facilitate security vetting and vendor agreements. 
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the department, is directly involved with and exercises independent judgment with respect to the following: 
  • Maintaining PIX 
  • Confirming and tracking post vendor agreements and tracking VFX vendors through security vetting 
  • Filing various paperwork and archiving materials properly 
  • Daily correspondence with SVP & VP of Post-Production regarding series/episode information & support 
  • Maintains PIX, our online viewing system of cuts and distribution lists. 
  • Establishes Rapid Cue accounts (online music cue sheets) for each production and manage submitting to the PROs 
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned – such as script reading and breakdowns 
  • Create and track up-to-date crew availability and status lists for Post, Editorial and VFX for staffing on series 
  • Administer inter-departmental systems to disseminate information and materials to PR, Digital, On Air Promos/Marketing, Media Management  
  • Works with each post team to fulfill season wrap of deliverables and elements 
  • Onboarding series vendors and post teams to the AMC master delivery portal, troubleshoot and interface between show teams and AMC internal staff for any issues with delivery 
  • Maintain the series program run time tracker (TRT doc), and other key departmental tracking documents. 
  • Post all residual paperwork at show wrap. Communicate and manages any questions that arise from AMC residuals 
  • Maintain and update the AMC Post-Production Delivery Handbook and share studio templates and delivery handbook with our show post teams. 
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred) 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Familiarity and knowledge of production/post-production workflow needed. 
  • Computer tech savvy 
  • Proficiency in Excel 
  • Excels in organization and distribution of a wide-range of materials and assets 
  • Ability to work across multiple series and projects in a high pressure and time sensitive environment 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects across all series 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to prioritize, high level of executive functioning skills. 
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solving, organized and strong independent worker. 
The base compensation range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 commensurate with experience.
