Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Writing, posting, and updating breaking news on our digital platforms 
  • Writing and posting multimedia-rich digital news stories
  • Updating the station's social media accounts
  • Newswriting (both digital and broadcast)
  • News producing
  • Video editing
  • Operating the teleprompter
  • Coordinating with other producers and news crews in the field
  • Coordinating live shots
  • Corresponding with network and regional producers at other stations sending & receiving stories
  • Assisting in answering the station's news tip hotline calls and emails
Qualifications:

The right candidate will be a strong news writer and video editor, a competent problem-solver, a quick thinker, and a good communicator. Must work well under pressure and on deadline. Knowledge of electronic news gathering & non-linear editing required. Knowledge of broadcast and digital news writing, as well as social media best practices required. Some newsroom experience is preferred, but not required. Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred. Must commit to Gray Television’s drug free workplace policy.
