Job Description
Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking a Digital Content Creator to oversee and assist in the development of digital content for the agency. Candidates should have solid, proven experience and competency in developing graphics, videos, photography, social media messages and other content for myriad digital platforms. Candidates should also have experience in developing, implementing and measuring communications campaigns and programs against current KPIs while implementing industry best practices and tactics.
• Develop and execute digital communications campaigns
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal and external publics, including MPB’s online audiences
• Find new and creative ways to engage with MPBs current online audience while cultivating new audiences around the state
• Assist in planning of digital content for social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
• Act as the lead for the creation/production of videos for digital platforms
• Keen understanding of how to grow platforms organically and through paid advertising
• Ability to write messages interchangeably across platforms and for specific communication channels
• Assist in research and testing new platforms and features
• Identifies opportunities for improving content and engagement
• Assist the Social Media Manager with management of MPB channels as needed
• Maintain brand guidelines and maximize brand awareness
• Promote and protect MPB brand
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications
EXPECTATIONS:
• Newsroom management or leadership experience
• Working knowledge of journalism ethics and AP style
• Strong presentation and vocal skills
• Ability to multitask and turn material quickly
• Experience in public radio/public media preferred
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and one (1) to two (2) years of experience in communications, marketing, digital and social media or comparable.
