Job Description

At Cox, we like to tell stories. Stories that inform. Stories that inspire. Stories that move.

The Cox in-house Video Team seeks a talented and highly motivated Sr. Editor and Motion Graphics Designer to help us tell these stories. Someone who showcases excellence in video editing and motion graphics and is passionate about bringing sight and sound together to tell a compelling story.

Knowing video is only half the story, we are seeking an editor who is skilled with After Effects and motion graphics production. Someone that knows how to create everything from a L3rd to an entire brand campaign video using motion design. While you take direction well, your inherent creative instinct allows you to speak up to help drive the creative forward.

Responsibilities would include creating final video deliverables for internal and external audiences in any industry where Cox has a presence. You could be creating and executing breakthrough video content that moves the needle in a wide range of areas – from employment branding and automotive marketing to new spaces where Cox is investing like cleantech, healthcare and e-sports.

What You’ll Do While this position requires many technical skills, we’re looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure and thrives in a collaborative environment.  Specifically, you’ll…

Craft edits that inspire people, encourage them to take action, and/or make them cry (just not too much!)
Excel at long and short-form storytelling, including the ability to execute across a wide range of video styles – emotional, instructional, sizzle, documentary, etc.
Possess a mastery of After Effects, with the ability to create titles, lower thirds, transitions, animated intros/outros, sizzle reel GFX, and other image manipulation, as well as the ability to make adjustments and create After Effects templates to client’s needs
Help create the motion identity of our brand
Create video that is consistent with brand strategy and guidelines while delivering appropriate formats across channels
Continuously push the boundaries of creative video editing and motion design across all business units, helping develop and execute ideas and maintaining the integrity of the concept through the finished piece
Have an appreciation for music and its importance in video editing to evoke particular emotions in the viewer
Must be comfortable working with multiple videographers, producers and clients
Strong ability to master audio to taste, including but not limited to voiceover, location audio, music beds, sound effects, and in-camera sound
Possess proficiency in green screen production keying and compositing
Take risks while placing a premium on ideas, creativity and innovation
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, delivering work product and results that are on-target, while providing consistently excellent customer experiences turning them into raving fans
Perform well in a team environment and interacts in a positive, professional manner, while maintaining an easy-to-work-with attitude with team members and clients
Inspire creativity in co-workers and peers, while helping to identify new styles of video, graphics and animation by identifying trends in television, motion pictures and internet
Perform well in circumstances that might not always be ideal and under tight deadlines
Might be required to provide on-site editing support for large meetings or shoots occasionally
Strives to get the most out of our team, and internal and external production facilities/teams in all areas of production – including developing concepts, editing and shooting

What’s In It For You? You’ll be rewarded with highly competitive pay, plus other compensation perks that come with a full-time gig (e.g., 401k + matching, comprehensive medical benefits, etc.) and others you may not (e.g., extremely generous paid time off, tuition reimbursement for academic pursuits, paid time to volunteer, pet insurance and more…)

Work/Life Balance. For us to be us, you need to do you. Job flexibility is central to our culture because team members have different working styles and important stuff going on outside the office, too.

Smart and creative colleagues, plus ongoing learning opportunities. You’ll have the tools and team you need to do your job well without a lot of red tape. Plus, we know how important it is for you to stay brushed up on your knowledge and skills, so we invest in your ongoing training along the way to make sure you have what need to help you along your career path.
