Job Description

The Video Content Producer organizes, conceptualizes, and develops video content for all 3 radio stations for a variety of outlets. This includes capturing the performances of popular bands or celebrities during station visits.  We strive to hire people who are passionate about radio, driven, resourceful and problem solvers who have the ability to drive the evolving, diverse culture of the Power of Radio to success.  The successful candidate knows we work in the entertainment business and takes pride in the success of their On-Air talent.

Who We Are: 

CUMULUS | Chicago, IL currently features 3 stations in the Chicago area.  Our stations include:  101.1 WKQX, 94.7 WLS FM and 890 WLS AM. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Graphics developer (After Effects) for use within video elements and presentation animations
  • Developing quick content pieces used by the sales team for client meetings
  • Storyboarding, producing, and editing several videos for each station as part of marketing campaigns
  • YouTube and Social Media contributor – add video content for wide-scale audience engagement on social
  • TriCaster experience – capturing live video in-studio or on-stage from fixed and movable studio cameras
  • Video recording and online streaming when it comes to the performance studio (The Lounge)
  • Directing talent and crew during video shoots to accomplish sales/marketing/recap goals
  • On-site video shooting – capturing focused events, b-roll footage, on-site activations, and backstage interviews
  • Recapping high-level marquee concerts and events on-site for all 3 stations  
  • Archiving, organizing, and maintaining historical footage (raw and edited versions)
  • Attending weekly promotions and programming meetings to stay involved with fast-paced planning
  • Understanding “the voice” of the radio stations and speaking to the audience through video and posts
  • Experience with tight deadlines and quick turnarounds
  • Equipment maintenance (computers, cameras, lights)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Radio Producer and/or Assistant in a smaller market or college station
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Radio or Media Production, or related field is preferred
  • Strong social and digital experience
  • Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, multi-task and the discipline to focus and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with on-air staff, departments and clients
  • Creative and strategic problem solver
  • Ability to work with creative individuals as part of a team; excellent leadership skills
  • A strong understanding of PPM / Nielsen Ratings and ability to interpret various kinds of research
  • Deep knowledge of music, pop culture and current events and how they relate to the station’s target demo
  • Have and build great relationships in the music / entertainment community with a deep contact list
  • Savvy computer skills and proficiency with ratings, research and music (Stratus) programs
  • Strong production skills and knowledge of Op X, VOX Pro/Adobe Audition and Audacity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
  • Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
  • Must be flexible with work hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
