Job Description

Hulu’s Marketing and Publicity team is seeking a creative Senior Manager, Events to execute FOMO-inducing, high-touch events across our growing slate and develop strategic initiatives that reach our target audiences with innovative, compelling, and dynamic experiences.

The role reports to the VP, Events & Talent Relations and works closely with the Public Relations, Marketing, Social, Awards, and Content teams within Hulu and across TWDC divisions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize, manage, and produce a diverse portfolio of IRL programs that elevate Hulu Originals: red carpet premieres, festivals, conventions, consumer activations, fan events, talent dinners, tastemaker experiences, FYC events, press junkets, stunts, and partnerships.
  • Lead the Events team and internal partners by pitching and producing innovative events, experiential marketing, and stunts that break through the immense competition for attention.
  • Collaborate with PR & other Marketing stakeholders to ensure event concepts reflect top priorities, and strategic planning.
  • Lead large-scale and complex events that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own the creation and execution of program briefs, RFPs, project plans, creative strategy + activation decks, schedules, workflows, and recaps.
  • Source, vet, and hire appropriate suppliers and partners best suited to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Work with internal partners to lock budget, process payments, track, manage, and reconcile costs.
  • Work with internal partners on SOWs, MSAs to ensure Hulu is compliant with company, county, and federal policy.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and report on event performance and ROI to demonstrate impact and inform future events.
  • Perform departmental day-to-day activities to include venue and vendor research, contract negotiations, attend POD and taskforce meetings, prepare and present event decks to stakeholders, help with establishing events best practices, contribute to departmental operations, invitation + guest list management, art direction as it relates to elements of an event, seek new and fresh vendors doing exceptional work.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 7 years minimum of relevant event production experience; publicity/network/agency; end-to-end ownership producing experiential / festival events, film/TV premieres, and working with talent, representatives, and executives.
  • True mastery of event production and logistics, i.e., guest journey, venue decisions, permitting, ROS + event flow, food + beverage, décor, rentals, staffing, transportation, security, audio visual, content, guest demographic, riders, tech packs, insurance.
  • Proven experience managing people and teams.
  • Passion for Hulu content, pop culture, storytelling, television, entertainment, production, and events.
  • Experience working with high-profile IP.
  • Advanced knowledge of the event and entertainment industry's trends, practices, and terminology.
  • Discernment: You habitually exercise discretion with internal, sensitive, and confidential business; you're keenly aware of your location, audience, surroundings, and who might be listening.
  • Marketing prowess: you think equal parts strategically, analytically, and creatively and use research-based and cultural insights to inform your decision making.

  • Finesse re: the nuances of working with executives, talent, and industry representatives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in commonly used cloud-based software: Microsoft 365, G-Suite, Slack, AirTable.
  • Ability to travel, work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $102,000 to $136,700 per year.
