Job Description
We have an awesome team that includes specialized Video Editors so this role would require performing all of the technical aspects of editing sound for our films. This includes working in a post-production environment, utilizing skills such as sound editing, sound design, dialogue editing, and sound mixing. The candidate will also demonstrate their creativity in sculpting the world within the video, utilizing proper foley, sound effects, and ambience/room tone that fits the story. The ideal candidate will be able to seemlessly contribute mixing and editing to create polished and engaging content. HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
- Dialogue editing and cleanup- clip leveling, crossfading, de-noising, and smoothing edits in preparation for final delivery
- Music leveling, mixing, and troubleshooting to fix any audio bugs
- Selecting and piecing together the right sounds needed to achieve the best fit for the edited footage
- Editing all sound within Adobe Audition and or whatever program is appropriate to provide high quality sound that will enhance film content
- Editing and enhancing dialogue
- Maintaining excellent file structure and timeline organization
WHAT YOU HAVE:
- 2+ years of production sound editing experience
- Demonstrated sound editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Experience with Adobe Audition and Pro Tools in a post production working environment
- High level of experience with mixing sound and using various sound equipment
- Additional experience with field recording and microphone setups, sound effect creation, editing, and post-processing preferred
- In-depth knowledge of integrating sound and post-production sound equipment
- Strong communication and self-motivation
- Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Sound Editor will report directly to the Editing Manager and will have regular interaction
WHO YOU OVERSEE:
Currently, the Sound Editor has no personnel reporting directly to him or her
WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
Our Sound Editor will work remotely from home or a personal office and will be required to utilize Dhar Mann Studios time tracking software to log and submit work hours
WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
This is a full-time role, the schedule will be 9am - 6pm pst
