Job Description
WDJT-TV, Weigel Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Milwaukee Wisconsin, is looking for a Managing Editor. A successful candidate must be extremely organized with an aptitude for logistics and possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced, competitive newsroom.
Duties include:
Duties include:
- Plan and communicate daily and long-term coverage plans to newsroom including making decision related to assignments.
- Create, and maintain planning calendar for large events.
- Monitor police, fire and other alert systems and assist reporters with research, sourcing and tracking of contacts and experts including filing FOIAs and other open records requests.
- Collaborate on the generation of TSR ideas and efficiencies in our processes and product working closely with newsroom management.
- Manage assignment desk team including scheduling, training, reviews, and coaching.
