Job Description

WTVR, The E.W. Scripps Company CBS affiliate in Richmond, Virginia, is looking for a part-time Lifestyle Associate Producer to join our team on a temporary basis. The Lifestyle AP will create, and organize content for multiple platforms utilizing editorial, journalistic, organizational and communication skills for our lifestyle show, Virginia This Morning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Work closely with Executive Producers and Producers to determine content needs.
  • Assist in the development of content for multiple platforms in AP and broadcast style.
  • Execute time sensitive decisions.
  • Write clearly for multiple platforms.
  • Edit video for multiple platforms.
  • Post content to station's websites.
  • Fill in to produce newscasts as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • BS/BA in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
  • No prior experience required
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, storytelling abilities, and news judgement
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in computer based editing, Final Cut Pro and basic computer skills including MS Office
  • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under deadlines
  • Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
