Job Description

The Costume Buyer Department is responsible for research and order placement of fabrics, notions, and garments for operational costumes as well as partnering with vendors to enforce timelines and track deliveries.

At Disney, you will help the procurement team in sourcing, development and procuring garments for cast members to wear.

A Day in the Life…  
  • Researching fabrics, trims, and notions for Operational and Entertainment garments
  • Process orders for fabrics, trims, notions, and garments in SAP
  • Monitor delivery dates for commodities/components being ordered
  • Monitor warehouse inventory and complete withdrawal transactions when needed
  • Attend local vendor visits and develop garment bid packages for specific commodities
  • Responsible for commodity specific photo documentation
What we are looking for… 
  • Knowledgeable of fabrics with an understanding of their relation to design and construction techniques
  • Experienced in Textiles and/or the Apparel industry
  • Working knowledge of international shipping processes and global sourcing
  • Computer proficiency in programs such as SAP, Yunique PLM, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as willingness to learn new programs
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and vendors
Preferred Education:
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or recent graduate or graduate level student pursuing a degree in Merchandising, Textiles, or related field
Internship Eligibility:
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Candidates must be fully available to work full time any time including days, nights, weekends, and holidays for the duration of the internship
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work​
  • Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Program Length: The approximate dates of this 6-month internship are January 2024 through June 2024
