Job Description
We are looking for a Director to direct live, fast-paced newscasts as well as webcasts and other programs using the Sony ELC automated production system. The Director will also serve as Assistant Director for newscasts and other programs.
Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing as audio operator and studio support as needed
- Working closely with producers and the news department on developing high-quality, technically clean newscasts and programs
- Applying technical expertise and creative style to build interesting productions within accepted guidelines and standards
- Directing and/or providing production support for special sports and entertainment programs, including both studio and remote productions
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of directing and/or technical directing in a broadcast news environment
Additional Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience with automated production systems desired. Sony ELC experience preferred
- Ability to multitask in a live news broadcast environment
- Working knowledge of control room and studio equipment
- Experience with newsroom computer systems. iNews preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to function well in a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and time management
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills on common computer platforms
- Willing and able to work any shift in a 24/7/365 working environment, including weekends, overnights, and holidays
- Reliable transportation
