Job Description

The Associate Casting Director is responsible for the casting of voice-over and on-camera artists for WDI projects (working with Media Production, Creative Entertainment and Creative Interactive teams, among others).

The Associate Casting Director will work directly with the department Casting Director and will report to the Executive Digital and Media Production Studio. 

This is a full-time role.

What You Will Do:
  • Partners with the Casting Director to learn and understand all casting protocols, policies, and procedures for the Media Production Department at Walt Disney Imagineering.
  • Responsible for the casting of on-camera and voice over artists for our various shows and projects.
  • Reads and evaluates scripts to create and generate casting notices.
  • Researches and identifies available artists (actors and voice over talent) to meet the creative vision of the production.
  • Directs auditions, selects artists, and edits footage for management review.
  • Manages cost of artists to meet budgetary parameters.
  • Works directly with talent agents.
  • Negotiates deals with artists.
  • Works directly with Media and Project Producers and Creative Directors regarding schedule, budget, and talent needs.
  • Generates and manages contract requirements, working in conjunction with Corporate Legal and talent agencies to execute final agreements.
  • Creates presentation materials, including boards and reels.
  • Works with Business Affairs, Legal, Clearances, Franchise, Communications, and other divisions in compliance with business protocols.
  • Handles casting and contracting for English and foreign language speaking voice talent for our theme parks, attractions, cruise ships, and new entertainment venues including projects beyond the scope of Media Production projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build strong relationships with talent agents and managers.
  • Ability to work in a creative environment with producers, creative directors and writers.
  • Ability to interpret production scripts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of guild agreements, Union agreements, and contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Minimum 3 years Film Production and Casting experience required.
  • Familiarity with Disney parks preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts preferred.

The hiring range for this position in California is $77,100.00 - $103,400.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week.
