Job Description
CUMULUS MEDIA | Westwood One is looking for a dynamic, full-time member for our Shows/Production team with at least three years’ experience as a Writer/Producer. Applicants must have a dedicated work ethic with a strong background in audio production and script/copy writing. You’ll be collaborating with our team to execute the on-air production of weekend shows and features/projects for on-air, web, social media content and video postings. The Writer/Producer organizes, conceptualizes, and develops topics, features, and guests for Country Gold with Terri Clark that represents the lifestyle and interests of the show’s listeners. They also partner with the show’s host, the programming team, and others to create engaging content, increase listenership, and enhance listener’s satisfaction and passion. The producer is responsible for the weekly technical operation of the Country Gold show. The producer position also includes editing/production of various daily and weekly features and additional show content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform essential research of specific pop culture trending topics/content for on-air, video, website, and social platforms
- Write scripts and copy for on-air show, imaging, video, and social platforms
- Produce, edit, and upload show content for on-air to automation systems and for web distribution.
- Collaborate and provide weekly prep, on-air show rundown and scripts to host
- Coordinate with host the guest schedule of interviews for on-air, video, website, and social platforms
- Incorporate advertiser in-content messaging for use on-air, in videos, and social messaging
- Maintain master audio for archive library
- Upload produced show to automation system and website
- Manage and grow the show’s brand through on-air content, video, and social platforms
- Book and pre-interview guests
- Create and maximize revenue opportunities
- Gives direction to host and content providers
- Tactical planning for future shows, immediate opportunities, and artist/celebrity interviews
- Participate in meetings with the programming team to ensure content, tactical plans and image are consistent with overall show goals.
- Coordinate logistics for special interviews and remote broadcasts
- Correspond with affiliates via email regarding show’s weekly events
Job Requirements:
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Tolerance for stress and tight timelines, including ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of current and classic country music
- Creative and strategic critical thinking skills
- Minimum associate degree or equivalent work experience, prefer bachelor’s degree
- Three years audio, radio, video production experience
- Skills in VoxPro, Adobe Audition and OpX
- Experience with Facebook, X, Instagram, and all social media platforms
- Experience with upload of audio, video, text and graphics to website, and YouTube
- Vast knowledge of music, pop entertainment culture and lifestyle and how they relate to the target demo
- Ability to collaborate with creative individuals as part of a team, excellent leadership skills
- Have and build relationships in the music / entertainment community
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
- Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations
- Must be flexible with work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
