Job Description

This role is responsible for ideating, shooting, producing, and editing video content featured on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and long-form Instagram videos. All with a focus on engagement and audience growth while working with the strategy counterpart and brand team to create a consistent voice and story. The role sits on the social media team and works closely with both internal and external partners. 

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in film, production, graphic design, photography, social media, marketing, or communications
  • 3+ years of video editing / content creation
  • Similar management position at toy/entertainment/media company preferred
  • Understanding of COPPA a plus
Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
  • Narrative and audience driven understanding of social media content
  • Best practice knowledge of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms
  • Enthusiastic self-starter who is versed in video editing programs; Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects
  • Ability to switch between voices of various brand personalities, brand characters, corporate spokesperson, and consumer targets
  • Generating content for both kid and adult audiences
  • Good communication, management, decision-making, and relationship-building skills
  • Team player willing to absorb, enhance, and execute brand direction
  • Love of popular and internet culture
  • Animation design skills a plus
Authority:
  • Reports to Manager of Social Media Strategy and Content 
  • Works closely with portfolio brands, creative, agencies, and marketing teams to develop content 
Key Result Areas and Activities

Content Ideation 

Work with stakeholders to develop content/plans to grow/support the community, meet engagement metrics, and ensure best practices are followed
 
Content Creation / Production 
  • Independently create from start to finish professional grade videos in brand approved voice
  • Partner seamlessly with internal and external creative partners to deliver high quality content
  • Stay informed on platform specs, ad types and innovation
Analytics

Work with Strategy counterpart to stay informed on what’s working and what’s not working in a data-oriented way
 
Thought Leadership and Advocacy
  • Keep knowledge up-to-date with the latest in social video trends
  • Discover emerging social trends and/or platforms, react quickly to find new success
