Job Description

Come be part of a growing creative marketing team for the nation's newest news network – NewsNation – and sister stations Antenna TV, and Rewind TV, which air favorite classic TV shows from past decades. Based in Chicago, you'll work alongside the Executive Director of Creative and a team of Producers/Editors and Designers focusing on creative marketing and promotion.

We are looking for a Production Manager – a team player with experience in line production, and the ability to manage workflow and budgets for several projects simultaneously.
Our ideal candidate combines substantial experience in television, in-depth understanding of the production process, a network of contacts in the industry, ninja-like organizational skills, and a winning, can-do attitude.

Planning and organization of production schedules. Line production and proactive supervision of major department initiatives both in-house, and externally with agencies/production companies. Work closely with ECD and Producers to determine production needs and best course of execution in hiring outside production companies, agencies, and post-production, or deploying in-house resources.

Leverage your industry knowledge of Live-action film and video shoots and post-production, along with your understanding of competencies in photography, design/animation, digital/key art, and compositing, to help manage projects from start to finish.

Anticipate future needs of the department and suggest recommendations to increase workflow and productivity. Provide oversight of projects to ensure smooth execution from start to finish.

Create and manage all Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statement of Work contracts (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with outside agencies, and log documents with the company's Legal department.

Department production budget management and tracking year-to-year; work with Finance and Accounting to reconcile invoices. Regular, monthly cost reporting to senior management. Ability to read and translate AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers) documents submitted by outside production companies. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Handle all production-related aspects of film/video production, including drawing up a shoot schedule and estimating costs, hiring crews and contractors, negotiating rates of pay, booking locations and securing permits, and arranging any necessary permissions and risk assessments, making sure that insurance, health and safety rules, copyright laws and union agreements are followed.

Act as business development contact for the department with outside production companies, including introduction of new agencies, freelancers, vendor management, and relations.
