Job Description

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 6 month, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

CNBC is looking for an experienced Producer to be responsible for creating, producing and supervising segments. In this newscast, you will be an integral part of covering the most significant financial news stories of the day.  

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the editorial vision of the show each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the show
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely execution of on-air elements
  • Work closely with desk on reporter hits and assignments
  • Write and produce segments
  • Copy edit scripts and write teases when necessary
  • Become involved in planning process
  • Be in control room for live broadcast
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of Editorial experience in a fast-paced news room environment, ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change
  • Strong understanding of the markets and prior experience at a financial news network
  • Experience developing producer talent.

  • Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Sound journalistic judgment.
  • Strong time management skills.
