Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a full-time Executive Producer. This position is located in Montgomery, AL. This is professional work in the production of television documentary and news programs for state, regional, and national distribution. The Executive Producer will be a part of a team that coordinates and supervises all aspects of production and post-production for APT programs such as Capitol Journal, Spotlight on Education, and numerous other programs that center on education and civic leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited* four-year college or university in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field
- Five years of professional experience in producing and directing television documentary/news programs and in investigative journalism
NOTE(S)
- A Master’s degree (or higher) from an accredited* college in one of the above majors may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Additional experience above the minimum, in all of the required areas, may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants may qualify with any one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field plus 4 years of the required experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field plus 5 years of the required experience.
- Three years of college coursework (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours) to include 27 semester hours or 60 quarter hours of coursework in one of the specified majors plus 6 years of the required experience.
- Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) to include 18 semester hours or 40 quarter hours of coursework in one of the specified majors plus 7 years of the required experience.
- One year of college coursework (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) to include 9 semester hours or 20 quarter hours of coursework in one of the specified majors plus 8 years of the required experience.
- High school diploma or GED plus 9 years of the required experience.
