Job Description

A Day in the Life…

The team’s intern will learn the inner workings of the creative and production side of the organization. Interns will gain insight into the world of storytelling through exposure to a writer’s room, storyboard pitches, casting (recording/ADR session), script breakdown, tracking artwork, and to the post-production process including calling retakes and attending mix/playback to delivery.

Interns will be assigned to a show(s) on an animated TV series and gain insight into production and artistic staff responsibilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with production/creative teams and technical staff on various, ongoing projects.
  • Shadow and learn the responsibilities of an Artist within a studio environment.
  • Gain insight into the world of storytelling.
What we are looking for…
  • Proven skills utilizing MS Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Prior (external to school) internship within media/entertainment.
  • Strong interest and passion for animation.
  • Strong interest in television and the entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of Disney Television Animation content.
  • Major in Animation, Illustration, Sequential Arts, Entertainment Design or a related discipline.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience with Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, Storyboard Pro, Illustrator, and Maya a plus.
Preferred Education:
  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year, or a recent graduate.
Required Materials:
  • Portfolio (Must include a link to your portfolio/website on your resume when applying)
Additional Details:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • This internship is an onsite position -- Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Burbank/Glendale area.
  • Program length -- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 through August 2023.
  • Work details -- Must be able to work full time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
  • The pay rate for this internship In California is $21.20 per hour.
