Job Description

The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for all accounting and reporting functions of the Company, including the monthly close process and preparing internal reporting and SEC disclosure support to our parent company, Amazon.com, Inc.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of month, quarter, and year-end financial close as it relates to film and television content production, theatrical distribution, home entertainment, and ancillary revenues
  • Lead point of contact for Production Finance team
  • Work closely with Executive Director to manage and mentor members of the Corporate Accounting team and ensure deadlines are met
  • Review journal entries and various monthly and quarterly schedules and analyses
  • Contribute to Amazon/MGM integration process, including designing and implementing process and accounting changes for production reporting and film cost amortization
  • Implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures according to corporate guidelines and resolve functional issues
  • Liaise with other divisions including Financial Planning, Production Finance, Participations, and Tax within MGM and Amazon
  • Ensure delivery of key service requirements and achievement of key departmental targets versus metrics
  • Assist with projects related to continuous improvement opportunities
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (a must)
  • In depth technical understanding of U.S. GAAP
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Entertainment experiences
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and/or Board Reports
  • Ability to maneuver in a complex business environment, acumen to manage complex business situations, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously, including balancing progress on long-term projects with the urgency of immediate operational demands
