Job Description

Big Ten Network is seeking a Media Management Coordinator to join our team in Chicago, IL. The Media Management Coordinator will assist the Senior Media Manager with the organization of all the internal and external media cataloging and requests for the network.  Requests are received from a variety of sources, including networks (Fox, NBC, CBS, ESPN), school athletic departments, business partners, outside production vendors, various other stakeholders, and internal B1G Network departments. Media Management works closely with the studio production and transmission operations department in the coordination of recording, archiving, and restoring various content for network and studio in-house productions. The Media Management department is responsible for creating and sustaining workflows regarding sending games, melts, and various footage to all our partners and universities in a timely manner.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Archive footage in our multiple storage systems, including Stratus, for long-term records
  • Restore footage from our storage systems to support studio, remote, original programming, on-air promotions, marketing, and digital
  • Coordinate with third-party production companies on footage needs for their ongoing projects
  • Upload footage into Stratus using Adobe Premiere
  • Create downloadable links for requests from producers, talent, vendors, and the conference using a combination of Fox Media Cloud, Adobe Premiere, Aspera, and Box
  • Maintain and organize our Avid INEWS database, along with creating new user accounts 
  • Deliver B1G+ events to schools and other parties using the SportRadar platform
  • Order historical footage from Iron Mountain and Veritone for on-air programming purposes
  • Facilitate delivery of conference broadcast events (whether on B1G network or other networks) and many B1G + to Veritone as quickly as possible for licensing opportunities and archival purposes
  • Work closely and manage relationships with media partners to receive and deliver melts and other footage on a daily basis, including using their third-party platforms for downloads
  • Work with B1G+ streaming to fulfill university requests of all B1G+ events whether routed through the network or directly to our streaming platform
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 1+ years of experience in a television newsroom or media management with knowledge of studio production and operations, ingest and transmission, Adobe Premiere, Grass Valley Media Management systems, and cloud-based storage systems
  • Knowledge of college sports
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to prioritize and concurrently handle multiple, time-sensitive requests within a high-pressure environment
  • Be able to work non-traditional hours, which will include nights, holidays and weekends
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
  • Bachelor’s degree, certification(s), or experience in library sciences, asset management certifications or similar studies
  • Knowledge of Newsroom software systems such as INEWS
