Job Description

We are looking for a Set Lighting & Grip Manager to join our Studio Operations team.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the set lighting, grip, and canvas departments to support both our internal and external productions within the broader Atlanta metro region. You’ll provide oversight of an extensive inventory of production assets and equipment to ensure ideal utilization while managing a team to support production logistics, maintenance, and billing. You will also work closely with Los Angeles based team members to help build and manage key SOP’s, system technologies, and standards across the departments.  

You will need to be a seasoned production professional able to operate at multiple levels and bring in a forward-thinking operations expertise.

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for planning and monitoring the day-to-day operations strategy, teams, equipment and solutions for the Set Lighting, Grip, and Canvas Operations
  • Manage and coordinate all production support requirements on-lot to ensure that all aspects of the production go as planned
  • Regularly evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Mentor, guide, and assist a direct team that is responsible for on-set operations, warehouse/logistics, rental and billing, and operations support
  • Manage procurement process and coordinate material and resource allocation
  • Oversee customer support process and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics
  • Identify training needs of team and develop programs to increase operational capabilities

What You Must Have…
  • 6+ years of experience overseeing production support services within the Film and Television industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of all motion-picture, television, broadcast, and events support services, along with continuous shifts that are taking place within the industries competitive landscape
  • Proven knowledge of motion picture and television production support services.  Including lighting and grip equipment, supplies, and personnel.
  • Experience working with and supporting multiple stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
  • Proven experience cultivating relationships with corporate and finance team members, production crews, unit production managers, transportation coordinators and transportation captains

  • Strong background in asset management with the ability to ensure maximum utilization of assets across all productions
  • Strong computer literacy in inventory tracking systems (i.e., RTPro)
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel, including executives, operational supervisors, and front-line crew.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
  • Strong computer skills: ability to understand multiple operating systems.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen
Additional Requirements:
  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from a designated worksite.
